New Releases 08-December-2017

Thom Yorke - Tomorrow's Modern Boxes - XL Recordings
Tomorrow's Modern Boxes is an eight-track record from Thom Yorke, available on vinyl and CD. A record born of silver darkness, pressed onto heavyweight 180g white vinyl completed with undersize 75mm centre labels, housed within heavy white board inner and outer sleeves. These are printed with a metallic silver laminate then multi-tone black and a striking neon green.

Chris Thile - Thanks For Listening - Nonesuch
Nonesuch Records releases mandolinist, singer, songwriter, and radio host Chris Thile's Thanks For Listening, with the vinyl to follow on December 15. The album is a collection of songs that were originally written for performance on A Prairie Home Companion. Since becoming the American Public Media program's host, Thile has, each week, written one new (often topical) "Song of the Week" that gets its debut performance on that Saturday's live broadcast—with Thile, the house band, and some of his guest musicians. For Thanks for Listening, Thile and producer Thomas Bartlett chose ten songs from nineteen possibilities and created new studio recordings of them, rather than merely documenting them as originally performed.

K. Michelle - KIMBERLY: The People I Used To Know - Atlantic
The album feels confessional. Each of the songs on the album is about someone who she's met during her life's journey and how it's left a mark on her. Each person that has left a mark has influenced her direction down life's path. With this album, K. Michelle finds herself at a vulnerable crossroad and she's prepared to share the experience with her fans both new and old.

Barbra Streisand - The Music...The Mem'ries...The Magic! - Sony
The Music...The Mem'ries...The Magic! is the album of record for Barbra Streisand's triumphant concert tour of the same name in 2016. This collection captures the iconic songstress culminating her 13 city tour in Miami, Florida on December 5th, 2016. The Music...The Mem'ries...The Magic! is available in two versions: a single disc album of concert highlights, and a deluxe 2 disc set featuring the entire concert performance and all of Barbra's dialogue including her reflections on making some of this music, her film career, and what it was like to make her most recent # 1 album, ENCORE Movie Partners Sing Broadway (with Alec Baldwin, Chris Pine, Jamie Foxx, Antonio Banderas, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Wilson, Melissa McCarthy, Daisy Ridley). This career spanning collection also includes a performance of "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" with special guest, Jamie Foxx.

Actor and comedian Bill Murray met German cellist Jan Vogler on a trans-Atlantic flight. The two struck up a friendship and soon had the idea to work together on a project: New Worlds. New Releases 01-December-2017

U2 - Songs of Experience - Interscope Records
U2, the biggest name in rock music is back with their highly anticipated 14th studio album Songs of Experience. A collection of 13 songs in the form of intimate letters to places and people including family, friends and fans, featuring tracks ‘The Blackout” and first single ‘You’re The Best Thing About Me’.

Neil Young & Promise Of The Real - The Visitor - Reprise
Neil Young reteams with Promise Of The Real for a new album titled The Visitor, their second studio LP together following 2015's The Monsanto Years. From 'Time Fades Away II' to 'Homegrown' and Crazy Horse's killer 2003 Bonnaroo set, a look at the best of Young's overflowing vault the album, due out December 1st, comes just three months after Young released Hitchhiker, his long-lost LP of acoustic songs recorded over one night in August 1976. Young and Promise of the Real also shared the album's first single "Already Great," a rumbling, tongue-in-cheek response to Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" campaign slogan. The singer previously denied Trump's use of "Rockin' in the Free World" during the 2016 presidential campaign and roared "Fuck you, Donald Trump" onstage during a June 2016 concert. "You're already great / You're the promised land / You're the helping hand," Young sings to the U.S. on the chorus. The track ends with a repeated chant of "Whose streets? Our streets!," a popular rallying cry at recent protests.

Chris Stapleton - All American Made

Chris Stapleton - All American MadeChris Stapleton - From A Room: Volume 2Chris Stapleton - From A Room: Volume 2 - Mercury Nashville
Chris Stapleton's From A Room: Volume 2 is released on Mercury Records Nashville. The multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM Award-winning musician first shared the album news from stage during the first of two sold-out shows at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena this past Friday. Of the special hometown concerts, CMT praises, “…cemented his status as one of music’s greatest talents to emerge from the current decade.”  The forthcoming album takes its name from Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A (the capital “A” in “From A Room”) where it was recorded over the last year with Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb. Along with Stapleton on vocals and guitar and Cobb on acoustic guitar, the album features Morgane Stapleton on harmony vocals as well as longtime band-members J.T. Cure on bass and Derek Mixon on drums. In addition to seven songs co-written by Stapleton, the album features versions of Kevin Welch’s “Millionaire” and the Homer Banks/Lester Snell-penned song made famous by Pops Staples, “Friendship”. Volume 2 follows the release of From A Room: Volume 1, which debuted earlier this year at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, #2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and, with its RIAA Gold certification, remains the #1 best-selling country album of 2017. Stapleton’s 2015 double-platinum solo debut, Traveller, is currently the #2 best-selling country album of the year.
